What are dentures?
Dentures are natural-looking replacement teeth that can be removable or fixed. While traditional removable dentures require dental adhesive, must be taken out at night to sleep, and may be diffifcult to eat certain foods with, fixed implant dentures are becoming a preferred option for many patients, since they can be worn during sleep, and function very similarly to natural teeth when eating and speaking. Partial dentures are also an option when there are several healthy teeth still remaining in the mouth.
- Fixed implant dentures are given to patients when all of the natural teeth have been removed. They are attached to between four and six implants on each arch. Using our Yomi Robotic Implant system and PlanMeca
PlanCad
Premium planning software, we are able to not only plan the exact sites of a patient's implants for a precise, non-invasive implant surgery, but also to design and 3D-print a temporary denture that will perfectly affix to
the
patient's new implants, ensuring that the patient leaves with a new smile that same day.
Once the patient has healed in four to six months, the temporary denture will be removed and a permanent denture will be attached to the patient's implants. We are also proud to offer same day denture to fixed conversion! If you already have a removable implant denture, we are able to convert it to a fixed denture that does not need to be removed in just one day. Conventional full dentures are placed after the gum tissue has healed, which can take several months. Immediate full dentures are placed immediately after the teeth have been removed, but do require frequent adjustments during the first couple of months of use.
- Partial dentures are attached to a metal frame that is connected to the patient's natural teeth and are used to fill in where permanent teeth have been removed. Partial dentures are considered a removable alternative to bridges.
